British Columbia based Artist

British Columbia based Artist
Inspired by the great Impressionists of the late 1800s and their ability to capture fleeting moments on a canvas, my practice is rooted in the intersection of nature, light, and texture. I work primarily in mixed media, combining acrylics, watercolors, and modeling paste to create rich, layered works that explore the fluidity and complexity of the natural world. Whether hiking the mountains of British Columbia, running through lush forests, or relaxing by the lake, I instinctively engage with the ever-changing landscape around me. It is this study of my surroundings that drives my artistic process, guiding me to capture its essence with different paint techniques. Through my art, I seek to evoke a sense of calm, connection, and wonder. I believe art serves as both a personal escape and a universal language, one that invites us to connect with ourselves, each other, and the world around us.

I am an artist based in Vancouver, Canada, specializing in mixed-media painting with a focus on acrylics, watercolors, and modeling paste. I hold an honors BSc in Biology from the University of Western Ontario and am currently pursuing research in a Biomedical Engineering laboratory within the Department of Mechanical & Materials Engineering. In addition to co-authoring research papers, I’ve integrated my artistic skills into my academic work, creating detailed anatomical illustrations for use in published research.
Art has always been a significant part of my life. I’ve been creating since I could hold a pencil. To me there is nothing more exciting than a blank canvas waiting to be painted. Nature provides endless inspiration—I see the world around me in terms of paint colors, that vibrant spectrum of hues in nature translates into the language of mixed acrylics and watercolors.
While I’ve had the privilege of being the youngest artist to participate in numerous art shows across Canada, my passion for painting goes beyond its potential as a career. Art has served as a therapeutic escape for me, offering relief from the stresses of everyday life. I have also used my work to bring comfort to others, creating art for children at the British Columbia Children’s Hospital and for residents in senior homes, helping them find solace and expression through creativity.
